A website to educate about better shipping methods and serve as a lead generation tool for UPDS.

The Client

Union Pacific Distribution Services or UPDS provided door-to-door shipping and logistics services for companies shipping almost any commodity. They combine shipping modes to create the most effective, efficient and economical transportation solutions on the market. They keep supply chains running smoothly through validated data, 24/7 shipment tracking and unmatched logistics expertise.

The Need

When the client approached us, the existing UPDS website was outdated and not user friendly. It didn’t inform customers and prospects about the company and its services well. They also recently had gone through a rebranding and needed a new site to match the new brand.

The Solution

The team set to work. Goals for the new custom site included educating the user about better shipping methods, encourage users to get a rate, and encourage users to “contact us.”. The UPDS team scheduled and ran their own photoshoot to use original photography and familiar faces in the new brand.

We designed and developed a new, user-friendly, goal-oriented website that became a lead-generation tool and fit right into the new look, feel, and tone of the new brand. The website was responsive and built statically. (We didn’t integrate any CMS, as per their request.) We delivered the code to the UPDS developers to plug into their existing CMS system.

We also had the opportunity to design some application icons for them to use internally.

The Results

We launched at the end of June. The site we had really great feedback and the site performed well. Shortly after launching, Union Pacific merged its subsidiaries into Loup Logistics.

The UPDS team was a great partnership that resulted in a really strong and true to brand web presence. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such smart and hardworking people.
